What is fanbinding?

Fanbinding is the practice of bookbinding fanworks. It can be done for various purposes.

I do it for archival purposes, to build a personal physical archive of fanfiction. When I can, I also do it as a way to participate in the fandom gift economy, by gifting a copy of their fanwork to the author, although in practice the feasibility for me depends on the geographical location of the author, shipping costs, and the willingness of the author to share an address. I don't do or condone for-profit fanbinding, and I am not open for commission. The list of my bound books can also be seen as a fanfiction recommendation list.
